For collectors of historical share certificates and those passionate about maritime history, the Mouettes Genevoises SA share certificates offer a fascinating glimpse into Geneva’s rich navigation heritage.

Founded in 1897, Mouettes Genevoises SA has played a crucial role in Geneva’s public transport system, providing ferry services across the lake. The company’s shares represent more than just ownership—they embody over a century of innovation in lacustrine transport, from early steamboats to modern electro-solar vessels.

Collectors may find certificates from different periods, including those issued before the 1991 acquisition by the Charrière family. These documents often feature intricate designs, reflecting the prestige of the company and its historical significance in Geneva’s urban transport development.

If anyone here owns or has seen share certificates from Mouettes Genevoises SA, feel free to share details or images! It would be great to explore their artistic and historical value together.

Looking forward to your insights! 🚤📜

This is really interesting! I didn’t know anything about Geneva’s transport history, but these share certificates sound like a great way to connect with it. It’s always fascinating to see how old companies evolved over time, especially in something as unique as lake transport.

I’ve never been to Switzerland, but I’d love to learn more.

Thanks for sharing this, Gregoire—what a gem! I actually came across one of these certificates last year at a small dealer fair in Bern. It featured an early 20th-century design with a gorgeous engraving of the lakefront and an old steamboat. I regret not picking it up at the time…

It’s rare to find transport companies with such a strong local identity and continuity. The fact that Mouettes Genevoises is still operating makes the certificates feel even more alive, if that makes sense.

Would love to see if anyone has photos of earlier issues, especially pre-1991. Maybe we can start a small registry or gallery?
