Dear ScripoTime Community,

Let’s extend a warm welcome to Lynette Hew (@lynettealh), joining us from Malaysia!

Lynette is new to the world of scripophily, and she’s already captivated by the intricate beauty of bond certificates—particularly those from Asia, Europe, and Africa. Her interest lies in the ornate designs and cultural stories these pieces often reflect. With a background in economics and professional experience at the London Stock Exchange Group, Lynette brings both curiosity and a keen eye for financial history.

We’re thrilled to have her aboard and look forward to seeing how her journey in scripophily unfolds. Feel free to reach out and share your tips, favorite finds, or simply say hello!

Best regards,
Grégoire Peverelli

Hi everyone! 🌍
I’m Lynette — I’m pretty new to collecting scripophily, but I’ve been completely captivated by it for the past few months. My background is a mix of art, history, geopolitics, and economics, so these certificates feel like little time capsules that combine everything I love. I also study finance (CFA Level 1 grind 🧠📉), so there's this beautiful overlap between theory and tangible artifacts.

Right now, I’ve been focusing on Chinese bonds (esp. Lung Tsing U Hai ones), Panama Canal shares, and older European railway certificates — the ones with big chops, gorgeous fonts, or connections to major infrastructure projects. I just picked up a few uncancelled ones from the 1920s and I’m way too excited about the stamps and purple inks 😆

I’m hoping to use ScripoTime to:

  • Connect with other collectors across the world 🌐

  • Build a mini online archive/catalog of my pieces

  • Learn more about market values, rarity, and history from seasoned collectors

  • Eventually sell and trade thoughtfully curated pieces (maybe even under a small shop I’m starting)

Scripophily feels like Pokémon cards with big girl money 💸💅 and I’m here for it.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Muah (respectfully), Lynette
