Given that scripophily, while niche, is less popular compared to coin or stamp collecting, how do you see its market evolving in the future? Do you think the scripophily market is poised for a boom, or do you believe it might be in decline?

I think the scripophily market has room to grow, especially as people become more interested in unique financial history. It's niche, but with the right exposure, I don't see it declining—just slowly attracting more collectors over time.

I agree with both of you, and I’d also add that part of the issue might be the lack of mainstream exposure. You rarely see stock certificates featured in museums or pop culture the way stamps and coins are. Most people don’t even know what an old bond or share looks like!

Another thing: coins and stamps often carry national or emotional symbolism—flags, monarchs, animals, etc.—while stock certificates are tied to businesses, which might feel less “collectible” at first glance. But once you dig in, you realize they reflect everything from railroads to mining booms, and the art can be spectacular.

Maybe what we need is a good documentary or Netflix series on scripophily 😄
