The Dutch East India Company (VOC) issued the world's first stock certificate in 1606, marking the beginning of the stock market as we know it. I’ve read that original VOC stock certificates have sold for over $1,000,000 at auction, but I’m curious—what do you think one would fetch today?
Given the increasing interest in financial history and rare documents, could the price go even higher? Have there been any recent sales or valuations? Would love to hear insights from collectors and experts!
