The Public Loan of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1860
In 1860, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was besieged by Piedmontese forces, leading King Francis II to issue a public loan of five million ducats. The attempt to raise funds failed, and the kingdom was annexed to Sardinia, becoming part of Italy in 1861. A document from this time, a bond with rare original signatures, holds high historical and cultural value.
